Global activist who spent her life advocating for HIV/AIDS awareness, Hydeia Broadbent, passed away this week at age 39. Born with HIV in 1984, Broadbent began raising awareness about the virus in her early years. “I want people to know that we’re just normal people,” she shared. Broadbent was adopted at birth by her parents after being abandoned at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas. The disease was passed down by her mother, an IV drug user who left her at the hospit
