Women and children remain trapped in Syria’s Roj camp

About 2,300 women and children from dozens of countries are being held at Roj camp in Syria, many of them linked to ISIL. The Syrian government wants to close the camp, but there are currently no formal plans for what will happen to those being held there. An explosion tore through a temporary weapons depot near Sarmada, in northwestern Syria killing at least 14 people and injuring 11. The warehouse held weapons and munitions left behind from years of war, collected and held there temporarily before being transferred elsewhere.
