Detroit police took a suspect into custody during a narcotics investigation near Livernois and Joy and discovered a 2-foot alligator inside the home. Authorities called Detroit Animal Care and Control to remove the alligator and a turtle from the property. Officials say the turtle can be returned to its owner at a later date.
