This is the ideal position for childbirth and, accordingly, the most common type of presentation. The fetus presents with a flexed neck, which extends during delivery. The Lithotomy position includes lying on the back with knees bent and positioned above the hips with your legs spread apart ↔️ It provides the doctor with good access to the mother and the baby during childbirth.
