As winter approaches, our Dye Garden has been tidied, and it’s time to process this summer’s harvest. 🌱 In August, we harvested our woad crop and were delighted to be joined by Cheryl Porter, the Director of The Montefiascone Project and a specialist in historic dyestuffs. Together, we rolled up our sleeves and began processing the woad. After many weeks of hard work and patience, we now have a pigment that can be ground, ready for research by the Conservation team! #DyeGarden #PracticeBasedRes
