In January, Geoff released a video about controlling weeds in his summer perennial maincrop garden beds at Zaytuna Farm. You can see the progress in this latest video update, where the cover crop Lablab (Lablab purpureus) has suppressed the weeds. Lablab's vigorous growth and dense foliage help smother out competing weeds while improving the soil with its leguminous nitrogen-fixing abilities. Lablab is a bi-annual plant that often perennializes, so it reseeds but is controlled by frost. To watch
