#Mars is starting its return to our morning sky. The Southern Hemisphere can already see it. And it's now beginning a new cycle of visibility for the Northern Hemisphere. Over the coming weeks, the red planet will slowly climb higher in the east before sunrise for the whole Earth, becoming easier to spot. In a video, host Deborah Byrd explores how Mars moves through its long seasons and how those seasons shape what we see from Earth. Read more about Mars and watch Deborah's video at EarthSky.org

For the Northern Hemisphere, summer is here! 😎 Earth orbits the Sun at an angle, so half the year, the Northern Hemisphere is tilted toward the Sun — this is summer in the Northern Hemisphere and winter in the Southern Hemisphere. The other half of the year, the Northern Hemisphere is tilted away from the Sun, creating winter in the north and summer in the south. Solstices happen twice per year, at the points in Earth’s orbit where this tilt is most pronounced. These days are the longest (in th

The Moon appears upside down when viewed from the Northern vs. Southern Hemisphere because of your perspective. In the Northern Hemisphere, you're looking at the Moon from a different angle compared to those in the Southern Hemisphere. Imagine flipping a photo: the features of the Moon remain the same, but the way you see them changes depending on your viewpoint! #moon #earth #astronomyphotography #astronomyporn #Astrophysics #nightsky #science #Space #telescope #knowledge #curiosity #education
