NAMCOR ACCUSED ... The 11 people charged in the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia fraud and corruption case are scheduled to return to the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on 3 December for a ruling on an application for the postponement of their matter. Prosecutor Basson Lilungwe asked magistrate Esme Molefe on Friday to postpone the case to 26 March for further investigations to be carried out. Stop the bleeding… The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) this morning said it has embarked on a turnaround strategy to improve the corporation’s finances and eventually increase its sustainability. Hosting the media for a briefing, acting managing director Shiwana Ndeunyema said Namcor generates around N$7 billion in annual revenue, and it aims to wean itself off government bailouts and the fuel levy it currently receives.
