Last Saturday, The Pembroke Historical Society presented the Boston Tea Party a box of tea to be used as part of the Boston Tea Party commemoration next week. Pembroke and the North River were home to the Brick Kiln Shipyard from 1730 to 1848. A replica of The Beaver, one of the ships built at Brick Kiln, is now in Boston. This lake serves the drinking water needs of The City of Brockton and several other towns. It also serves to line the pockets of the city, because it is much cheaper to keep using Silver Lake rather than for Brockton to use their existing desalinization machine, as well as water from the Quabbin Reservoir via the Mass.
