Providence Park, home to the Portland Timbers and Thorns, is transforming from a soccer stadium to a concert venue this week as legendary rock band the Foo Fighters visit the Rose City on Friday, Aug. 16. It’s the first time in nearly 20 years the stadium located in Southwest Portland will host a concert (Def Leppard last rocked the Goose Hollow neighborhood back in 2005).
